What is America’s best Presidential option in light of Donald Trump’s recent indictment; by way of using Option Solving (OS)?

Former President Trump’s recent New York indictment has cast a further shadow over his fitness for future office. The fact that there are other more serious case investigations under way against him; further increases the size and intensity of that shadow. All the while he continues to pursue his candidacy; other GOP candidates are reluctant to jump-in and increase the Republican (GOP) turmoil. Although Democrats (DNC) would like Biden to drop out in favor of a younger candidate, they feel Biden should remain in the race as their best shot against Trump. Consequently Party leaders are wondering what might be their best option to encourage an election that’s good for America.

Advisors from both campaigns agreed to an objective option solving session to help, which therefore created a valuable question such as: “What is America’s best option in light of former President Trump’s recent indictment; considering 1) 2024 Presidential election cycle has already begun, 2) the 2020 election was very close, 3) both Trump and Biden have age issues, and 4) it will likely be a hotly contested with a vicious, partisan media?” Again, it’s appropriate for both parties to focus on just these four considerations to reduce complexity in his eventual decision, when that ultimate moment arrives – despite there being many other possible considerations out there.

They then decided to work with yin and yang “bookends,”as these will help keep their minds focused against other immediate mental distractions. Bookends such as these are vital for preventing our fertile intuitive minds from wandering and losing concentration. We are mostly unaware of how powerfully valuable but foot-loose our intuition can be unless we can keep it properly focused on such occasions.

These “bookends” were: “Both Trump and Biden withdrawUnlikely other than through death;and “Big name third party candidate enters as spoiler” Not have enough time and resources to be disruptive. You will note the italicized detractors associated with these least likely options, which shows why they are not a good idea for consideration. Even so, these bookends now nudged Party leaders’ intuitive thinking into high gear again to come-up with a range of realistic options – see ourLatest Worked Example.

From there, they worked-on creating their five or six most realistic options – A thru F – which were then ready for them to consider after some emotional distancing andbeforecoming to any final decision. They can then review these declared options, perhaps after 2 hours, later in the day, or first thing the following morning, before arriving at an optimal conclusion. You can replace their proposed options with any new ones of your own.

While these six options looked especially interesting, they were particularly intrigued by – Option C: DNC and GOP join forces to have a Unity Presidential slate. They subsequently decided to sleep on it once more and seek input from others before the following morning and then proceed accordingly. They were strongly advised to stick with their new overall, intuitive choice.
